About the event
Join me Sat October 12th, 2024 for a Dreaming Ceremony-ON LINE!
This dreaming ceremony has its roots in an ancient Toltec practice called a Mitote.
I was introduced to this ceremony during one of my apprenticeships with HeatherAsh Amara, author of Warrior Goddess Training (and many other books) who received it under her apprenticeship with Don Miguel Ruiz, a Toltec Nagual and author of the 4 Agreements (and many other books). Mitote is an Indian word that has been adopted by the Spanish. The word means chaos, it is used to signify a cacophony of voices without agreement, like a marketplace. The Toltecs used to say the ordinary human mind is mitote.
This ceremony is meant to help us access the realm between sleeping and awake and help us gain awareness that we are always dreaming. This ceremony will go through the night and end at Dawn. It traditionaly starts by lighting a candle at sunset, just as the sun disapperars below the horizon.
Sunset (7:00-7:15pm CDT): Candle lighting, call in support intention setting
9(ish)pm-11pm-watch a movie independently (suggestions wll be made; think movies like the Matrix or Inception where the line between awake and dreaming is blurred)
11:30pm-12am: All, ceremony opener,
12am-5:30am: Rounds, TBD
5:30-6am: All, cermony close
Rounds will be determined once I know how many time zones and people are participating. These are typically 30 min sessions where you'll bring your presense and awareness to the candle and repeat a mantra continuously during that time. Candle will be on zoom all night with a chosen mantra playing. Please be advised that arising at your guardian time will be your responsibility.

Gratitude, love and looking forward to dreaming with each of you!
A Dream within a Dream by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
